DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) – The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for much of the Lakes Area beginning Tuesday at 12pm through Wednesday at 6am.
Accumulating snow will begin this afternoon; 1 to 4 inches is expected, maybe greater than 4 in a few spots. Patchy blowing snow is possible making commutes slippery.
Forecasters say the snow will start about 1:00 Tuesday afternoon in central Minnesota and fall for the remainder of the day before tapering off in the overnight hours into Wednesday morning.
