Erhard Man Dies After Being Attacked by Bees

ERHARD (KDLM) – An Erhard man has died after being attacked by bees.

Just after 2 p.m., Monday, the Otter Tail County Dispatch received a report a medical emergency at a residence northeast of Erhard. A 69 year-old man, while working in his yard had been stung multiple times by bees or hornets.

At the time of the call, the male was said to be having difficulty breathing, and it was believed that he was experiencing anaphylactic shock.

Ringdahl Ambulance responded from their Pelican Rapids station, and was joined by several Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Deputies at the scene. They began treatment of the victim who on arrival was unresponsive. Lifesaving efforts were unsuccessful, and the victim passed away at the scene.

The name of the man has not been released yet.
